The Front Desk/Receptionist plays a vital role in the overall operations at ULP and is responsible for providing excellent customer service to ULP’s clients and guests. The Front Desk/Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for client/visitor interactions so customer service skills are a must. University Lab Partners seeks an experienced, enterprising, purposeful leader to drive the execution of its fundraising strategy. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Director will oversee, inspire, and support ULP’s fundraising efforts while achieving the organization’s fundraising goals. The ideal candidate will be eager to fulfill a key role in a growing ecosystem supporting life science innovation and education. This position is a critical, outward facing role with donor, constituent, and corporate partner interaction at the highest levels. Candidates must model an outstanding work ethic, exemplary people skills and a commitment to relationship building. This is an onsite position. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Creates and leads a coordinated program of fundraising and engagement activities designed to increase the number and level of annual, major and/or principal gift donors; sets direction and approach in partnership with ULP’s corporate and educational partners. Advises, informs, and makes recommendations on fundraising strategies to the Executive Director. Guides the direction of written proposals, grant writing, white papers, strategic plans, budgets, and other collateral materials as needed for securing philanthropic investments. High level of collaboration with both internal and broader partners to identify common goals and develop, execute, and advance prospect and donor strategies and increase participation among high profile volunteers and donors (i.e., individual donor engagement, annual giving, corporate and foundation relations, development, donor relations, research, and prospect management, etc.). Ensures the proper stewardship and recognition of donors in portfolio, compliance with prospect management guidelines for tracking and maintenance of contact and timely progress reporting. Follows standard of quality and excellence, ensuring the achievement of ULP’s mission and priorities, enhance reputation, and foster relationships with important internal and external stakeholders. Support growth marketing efforts on efficient donor engagement and retention strategies. Other administrative, networking duties, and ad hoc projects as needed. Requirements: Degree in related field and/or equivalent training or experience. 5+ years of successful development and/or fundraising experience. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively a wide range of stakeholders. Complex problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to conduct research, gather data, analyze information, and prepare effective, accurate, and timely reports and other documents to support development objectives. Strong knowledge and understanding of database management. Ability to inquire about and understand organizational interests/needs and determine how to persuade or market to that organization with compelling benefits. Ability to exercise good judgment, to demonstrate an understanding of ethics related to development activities, and to use discretion in interactions with donors, prospects, volunteers, and others. Ability to foster effective working relationships within a team environment. Knowledge of fundraising techniques including proposal development, prospect identification, program planning, fund solicitation, database management, donor tracking, and social networking and marketing tools Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups. Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to the organizations’ business and confidential prospect information.
