CircuCare Inc. is an early-stage San Diego medtech startup commercializing AI-powered wearable ultrasound for continuous, hands-free patient monitoring, branded Cynova. The company is a UC San Diego spinout built on Sheng Xu's lab research, where CEO Sai Zhou, PhD, was co-first author of the Nature study on a stamp-sized transcranial ultrasound patch that continuously tracks cerebral blood flow, and a contributor to clinically validated wearable ultrasound blood-pressure sensing published in Nature Biomedical Engineering. The patch uses a stretchable array of piezoelectric transducers plus custom algorithms to reconstruct 3D vascular data at ultrafast frame rates, replacing operator-dependent handheld probes and enabling prolonged, automated imaging. CircuCare pairs that hardware with AI-driven image acquisition and interpretation, targeting intraoperative, post-surgical, ICU, and at-home monitoring — including early warning of stroke and cerebrovascular events. Zhou co-founded the company with COO Grace Qin. Traction includes NSF I-Corps (2023–2024), MedTech Innovator, Microsoft for Startups, university health-system clinical partnerships, and Zhou's 2025 Forbes 30 Under 30 (Science) recognition.
