Introduction to Oncology

Hybrid Laboratory Course

Explore the journey of cancer care from screenings to diagnosis and treatment in this engaging 5-week hybrid course. Students will learn how different cancer treatments are developed, tested, and applied in real-world settings, gaining a deeper understanding of the biomedical and clinical processes involved.

By the end of the course, students will have a comprehensive overview of the cancer patient journey, insights into the development of treatments, and practical experience applying key concepts in a lab setting.

2025 Summer Class Photos-11 Lab

Course Format

Online learning

Weekly course materials, including readings, videos, and quizzes, allow students to learn at their own pace.

Weekly virtual check-ins

Students will meet with instructors to discuss progress, ask at least one question about the course content, and get personalized guidance.

Hands-on lab experience

In the final week, students will visit University Lab Partners for a 3-hour session to conduct an experiment or demonstration related to oncology, putting their knowledge into practice.

Scholarship Opportunities Available

All students are considered for need-based scholarships at the time of application. There is no additional application. ULP will notify scholarship recipients at the time of acceptance.
