Hands-on training in biotechnology

This hybrid course consists of a weekly asynchronous module that prepares students for the weekly in-person laboratory activities. Students will acquire and demonstrate knowledge and skills in qPCR, gel electrophoresis, protein purification, quantification, experimental design, and execution. The course is designed to integrate theoretical understanding with practical application which prepares students for the dynamic challenges of biomanufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology laboratories. 

Upon completing Molecular Biology 1 and 2, students will be able to earn the Molecular Biology Laboratory Techniques badge through UCI Division of Continuing Education.
