Immersive Research Experience

BioInnovators is not a traditional course, but an immersive research experience that mirrors real-world scientific careers. You’ll design your own project, manage your own schedule, lead your experiments, and work directly with industry professionals to take your research to publication or competition.

Orientation: August 21 | 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Cell Culture Bootcamp: August 25 - 27 | 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Mondays & Thursdays: September 8 - December 11 | 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Mandatory attendance for parents/guardians on September 8

No class the week of October 13 and the week of November 24

No experiments after November 20. From November 20 - December 11, students will focus on creating and writing their research presentations.

Scholarship Opportunities Available

All students are considered for need-based scholarships at the time of application. There is no additional application. ULP will notify scholarship recipients at the time of acceptance.

The tuition is $2,200 (includes all laboratory materials).

What are the program deadlines?

Unlike previous classes, we do not have rolling acceptances for this course. Deadline for applications is August 28, 2025, acceptances will be sent by September 1, 2025, and payment will be required by September 5, 2025.

What is the tuition for the program?

All students are considered for merit-based scholarships at the time of application. There is no application process. ULP will notify scholarship recipients at the time of acceptance.

  • Present your work to ULP mentors and professionals

  • Collaborate 1:1 with an industry mentor

  • Gain experience leading your own research like a real principal investigator

  • Option to enter and compete in the IUSD Science Fair (IUSD students only)

  • Option to enter and compete in the OCSEF Science Fair

  • Opportunity to submit a paper to a high school research journal following additional course work
